You’ve probably heard about Planet Fitness at some point. It’s popular for a multitude of reasons — it offers a ‘judgment-free’ workout space, low prices, many pieces of equipment, and countless amenities.
But you’ll likely want to see how you like it before you become a member, and you may wonder if you can get a free Planet Fitness pass to test it out.
So, is there a free trial? Does Planet Fitness offer a free day pass or guest passes? Planet Fitness has free trials, day passes, and guest passes. If you know a Black Card member, they can send you an invite from the Planet Fitness app. If you don’t know a Black Card member, you can register for a free one-day pass on the Planet Fitness website.

Planet Fitness Free Trials
Below, I’ll discuss the process for signing up for free trials and day passes at Planet Fitness. Keep in mind that the two are separate, and there are different steps to take to obtain them. I’ll get into that further down.
How Do You Get a Free Trial at Planet Fitness?
You can obtain a free one-day trial at Planet Fitness by using its website. Type in your location to find the closest gym and enter a few details of personal information. As long as you haven’t obtained a guest pass in the last 90 days, you qualify for a free pass at Planet Fitness to try it out.
How Long Is the Free Trial at Planet Fitness?
The free trial at Planet Fitness is only one day, but you can use one every 90 days.
With that said, if you know someone who is a PF Black card member, you can tag along with them as much as you like.
Planet Fitness Free Trial Policies
Anyone can get a free trial pass from Planet Fitness — the only requirement is that you live within the vicinity of the gym. You can use a free trial pass every 90 days.
To sign up for your free trial pass, register on Planet Fitness’ website before coming to the gym. Make sure to bring identification and proper workout attire with you.
Keep in mind that a tour of the facility is required prior to starting your workout, so make sure you show up with enough time to finish the tour and your workout.

Planet Fitness Guest Pass
What Is a Guest Pass?
A guest pass is a pass that enables gym members to bring a friend or family member with them to work out. Guest pass privileges at Planet Fitness depend on what kind of membership you have.
Planet Fitness has two membership categories — a ‘Classic’ membership and a PF Black Card membership. PF Black card members are entitled to bring one guest in with them per day. This effectively enables them to bring in friends and family for free!
How To Get a Planet Fitness Guest Pass
To get a guest pass at Planet Fitness, a PF Black card member will send an invite to you over the Planet Fitness app. This is available to download on the App store or Google Play. You will have to enter some basic information and will be given a one-time, scannable digital key tag.
Remember that you can only use the gym WITH the PF Black Card member who brings you in. But, there is no limit to the number of times you can come in, as long as you’re with that Black Card member.
Day-Use Guest Pass
A common question I hear from people interested in joining Planet Fitness is, “Does Planet Fitness do day passes?”
Yes, Planet Fitness does day passes. If you don’t have a buddy who’s currently working out at Planet Fitness, and you’ve used your one-day trial, you can purchase a day-use guest pass.
So, how much is a day pass at Planet Fitness? The day-use guest pass is $20 and not a good option, given that the classic membership is only $10/month. If you’re thinking about buying a day pass, you may as well just sign up for a membership at that point.
How the Planet Fitness Free Guest Pass Works
If you are a PF Black Card member, you can bring in one guest per day. There are no limits on the number of times that any particular guest can come in. You can bring in a new person every day, or you can bring the same person over and over.
Just keep in mind your guest has to stay with you throughout the duration of your workout.
Adding a Guest to the Planet Fitness Mobile App
Sending out a Planet Fitness visitor pass is easy. Any PF Black Card member can send one via the Planet Fitness app by selecting Black Card Guest under the Benefits section on the Home screen. From there, select Invite a PF Black Card® Guest and Add a New Guest.
Your guest will be prompted to complete a very short online registration form and be granted a one-time digital key tag. This key tag enables them to access the facility.
Planet Fitness Guest Pass Policies
All guests must be 18 or older. If they are between the ages of 13 and 17, they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Keep in mind that your guest pass does not give you access to Black Card member features, like the tanning area or massage chairs, but does give you general access to the gym.

Does Planet Fitness Have Weekly Passes?
Planet Fitness does not have weekly passes. It has two membership options, but they are all monthly.
The PF Black Card membership is $24.99 per month. The Classic membership, with a 12-month commitment, is $10 per month. Also, keep in mind that there is an annual fee and a sign-up fee.
Another popular gym you may want to try is 24 Hour Fitness. 24 Fitness doesn’t have a weekly pass either, but it does have a three-day pass — see how that gym stacks up against Planet Fitness in Planet Fitness vs 24-Hour Fitness.
