1. HOTSUIT Sauna Suit – Best Overall Sauna Suit
Rating: 5/5
Specifications
- Material – Silver-Heat REG V2.0
- Size range – S-5XL
- Key features – Lightweight and accelerates sweating
Pros
- Windproof and waterproof
- Odor-free
- Large range of sizing options
Cons
- Runs small, so you may need to order 1-2 sizes larger
The HOTSUIT Sauna Suit is the best you can get on the market. The patented Silver-Heat REG V2.0 fabric prevents odor, so you don’t have to worry about getting smelly while using this suit. The material is also waterproof and windproof, so you can use it with any form of exercise.
This suit comes in a full suit option or just a jacket, with a huge size range and a few different colorways to choose from, including black, red, gray, and blue.
2. Wonderience Sauna Suit For Men – Best Budget Sauna Suit
Rating: 4.5/5
Specifications
- Material – Neoprene and polyester
- Size range – S-5XL
- Key features – Doubles as waist trainer to improve posture
Pros
- Most cost-effective while still getting good quality
- Waist trainer adds low back support
- Reinforced zipper with two support belts across the belly to secure the vest
Cons
- Sizing may be an issue
While you can’t beat the cheap price point of this sauna suit, the best feature is that there are two models to choose from — with a waist trainer or without a waist trainer. The waist trainer model has an adjustable belt that wraps around the midsection and adds extra low back support to help release back pain. The model without a waist trainer is solely the neoprene sauna vest with no extra support.
This vest fits snugly around the body, but some sauna suit reviews for this product report it running small. You shoulder order one size up. The best way to determine your size is to go off your chest measurement.
Regardless of the snug fit, this vest is comfortable enough to wear in your everyday life or during your workouts to sweat more!
3. DEFY Heavy Duty Sweat Suit Sauna – Most Durable Sauna Suit
Rating: 4.5/5
Specifications
- Material – PVC-coated taffeta nylon
- Size range – S-5XL
- Key features – Waterproof, heavy-duty material
Pros
- PVC coating enhances durability
- Huge size variety
- Top comes with a hood
Cons
- Material has a strong odor
If you are looking for a full body sweat suit that will cover you from head to toe, look no further. The PVC-coated fabric, elastic cuffs, and added hood on this sauna suit allow you to trap heat and sweat up to 80% more. Using a hood will allow your body to trap heat and sweat even more.
The fabric is rip-resistant, so this sauna suit should last through even the toughest workouts. If it does happen to rip, you can get a refund, which is a nice touch.
This suit has a strong plastic odor when taking it out of the packaging. However, if you wash it according to the manufacturer’s instructions before your first use, you will not have to worry about any artificial smell.
4. RAD Sauna Suit – Best Odor-Resistant Sauna Suit
Rating: 4/5
Specifications
- Material – PVC-coated nylon
- Size range – M-6XL
- Key features – Lightweight patented fabric, night vision reflective logos
Pros
- Waterproof and windproof
- Adjustable Velcro cuffs
- Budget-friendly
Cons
- Sizing may be off
- Light ripping and snagging may occur after a few months
The patented PVC-coated material won’t leave this suit smelling like other neoprene suits. However, if it does start to smell, you can hand wash and air dry it to remove any odor. I also recommend washing it after every use just to make sure you keep odors at bay.
The adjustable cuffs allow for a snug fit to help you start sweating right away. The cuffs will trap your heat and sweat in the suit. This ensures nothing escapes from the suit and you get the most out of your workouts with it on!
I also like that you can safely exercise outdoors at night, thanks to the reflective logos on the jacket, which many sauna suits don’t offer.
5. Kebili Sauna Suit – Most Comfortable Sauna Suit
Rating: 4/5
Specifications
- Material – Polyester and polyurethane
- Size range – S-5XL
- Key features – Comfortable fabric and all-season wear
Pros
- Full shirt and pant set
- Stretchable and soft fabric
- No “plastic” noise with exercise
Cons
- Quality is not top tier
- Cannot order pants alone
Kebili does a great job with comfort. Its polyester and polyethylene material feels just like any other athletic shirt. It is very stretchy and makes no swooshing plastic noise during use. You can comfortably wear this sauna suit for any kind of exercise, from yoga to running.
One setback is you can only purchase the full set (shirt and pants) or the shirt. If you wear different-sized bottoms and tops, you may have trouble with the fit of this sauna sweat suit. If you are between sizes, you should size up.
6. BOXRAW Hagler Sauna Suit – Best Sauna Suit for Men
Rating: 5/5
Specifications
- Material – Polyester
- S-3XL
- Key features – Machine washable and anti-ripping material
Pros
- Elastic cuffs to trap heat
- Lots of color options
- Full-body suit
Cons
- Sizing may be an issue
- Expensive
BOXRAW is a brand that manufactures boxing equipment and athleisure wear. I especially recommend it for men because it was designed with male boxers in mind. However, it is a great option for anybody to use to increase their metabolism, accelerate weight loss, and promote cardiovascular endurance.
The elastic cuffs will keep this suit tight around your body to promote more sweating. You do not have to worry about special care with this suit since you can toss it in the washing machine after use.
This product is more expensive than other options on this list, but if you have the funds for it, you will appreciate its high-quality materials and durability.
7. Wonderience Women Sauna Suit Waist Trainer – Best Sauna Suit for Women
Rating: 4/5
Specifications
- Material – Neoprene
- Size range – M-XL
- Key features – Doubles as waist trainer
Pros
- Aesthetic look
- Cheap price point
- U-shaped design
Cons
- Fit could be an issue
- No zipper lock
If you want to kick up your sweating and work on your curves, this sauna suit is for you. It’s the best women’s sauna suit for weight loss due to its very flattering U-shaped design that enhances the female figure. The armpit area has a unique mesh fabric, making that tough area breathable. It is also one of the more cost-efficient sauna suits, which is never a bad thing!
An added benefit is the corset-styled garment doubles as a waist trainer. This sauna suit will pull in your midsection, giving you a sleeker, smaller waist. That way, you can sweat more, correct posture, and help flatten your abdomen to a more molded figure all while wearing this one sauna suit.
8. RDX Sauna Suit – Best Unisex Sauna Suit
Rating: 4/5
Specifications
- Material – Neoprene
- Size range – M-3XL
- Key features – Full-zip suit for easy application
Pros
- Anatomical fit for comfortable movement
- Conforms to the body shape
- One piece makes it convenient to put on
Cons
- Creates a slimming effect, but it could be uncomfortable for some people
- Hand wash only
This suit looks similar to a wet suit or a scuba diving suit. It is made with a neoprene fabric that will stretch and conform to your body shape, making it a good option for men or women. The fabric will lock in heat and get you sweating right away. The simple zip feature allows a comfortable fit for all genders.
The biggest complaint I have seen with this suit is that you must only hand wash it, which could become a lengthy chore. However, if you wash it in the shower after use and hang dry it, this suit will last you for a long time.

We relied on first-hand experience, customer reviews, and product specifications to determine the best options on the market.
Buying Guide: What To Look For in a Sauna Suit
When buying a sauna suit, there are a few important factors to look for:
- Material
- Ability to move in a full range of motion
- Breathability
- Durability
- Fit
Material
The most common material used in good sauna suits is neoprene. While neoprene is fantastic for its ability to trap heat and allows you to handle workouts at high body temperatures, it also traps smells.
Some of the newer designed suits use a material called PVC-coated nylon. This is also an effective material but won’t leave your suit smelly after use.
Ability to Move in a Full Range of Motion
You want to still be able to comfortably move around while wearing a sauna suit. You should be able to move your arms and legs normally and not feel restricted when exercising. If you get a suit that is too tight or restricts your range of motion, you cannot use it when working out.
Breathability
The goal is to get sweating with a suit, but you still need some room to breathe! The armpits and neck are areas that can get too tight and uncomfortable. Ensure your sauna suit is comfortable, especially around your neck and armpit area. Who wants to feel like they can’t breathe while sweating up a storm?
Durability
This is arguably one of the most important factors in determining the best sauna suit to lose weight. Once you purchase a suit, you don’t want to have to buy another one. You want a suit that will last a long time and not rip!
Even small tears can lead to heat leaving the suit. If heat leaves the suit due to rips or tears, you will not benefit from wearing it. You’ll still sweat, but the suit will no longer trap in as much sweat as possible.
Fit
The suit should be snug to your body. It should be tight enough to trap your heat and sweat inside the suit, but it shouldn’t be unbearably tight. Many sauna suit brands now offer looser fitting options, but these suits have elastic bands around the wrists or ankles that you can tighten to keep the heat in.
3 Benefits of Wearing a Sauna Suit
Why even wear a sauna suit in the first place? The main function of these suits is to increase your body temperature to make you sweat more, but they are also beneficial for short-term weight loss, postural control, and speeding up your warm-up time before exercise.
1. Short-Term Weight Loss
Using a sauna suit for short-term weight loss begins with sweating. When your body begins to overheat, you will naturally sweat to cool off, and the sweat then evaporates.
However, in a sauna suit, there is no evaporation. You are snuggly in the suit, which locks in the heat and sweat. Your body works harder in an attempt to cool down, and you end up sweating more.
The more you sweat, the more water loss you will have. The more water loss you have, the more weight loss you will experience. One study in 2018 found that the subjects’ sweat rate was rapidly increased while cycling when they wore a sauna suit compared to those who did not wear one.
This study didn’t mention weight loss, but sweat rate, core body temperature, and skin temperature increased in those who wore the sauna suit. All of those factors can then lead to immediate weight loss.
Disclaimer: Weight loss from excessive sweat is temporary and will come back as soon as you eat and/or drink fluids again. This benefit is geared towards weight-class athletes who need to quickly drop weight to make a weight class.

2. Postural Control
A few of the sauna suits I talked about earlier double as a waist trainer to improve posture. You will benefit from wearing a sauna suit by sweating more, but you also get the added benefit of snug compression around your midline.
The purpose of a waist trainer is to activate your core muscles when using it. Because of the tight and snug fit around your waistline, you are constantly reminded to use your core muscles to keep your posture in line.
The taller the corset, the more back support you will receive as well. The sauna suits that double as a waist trainer all have pretty tall corsets, so you will have additional back support to work on your posture while still getting the benefits of the sauna suit.
3. Warming Up
During a warm-up, your goal is to elevate your heart rate before activity and bring fresh blood and oxygen to your muscles so they are ready for exercise. Wearing a sauna suit for your warm-up can raise your body temperature much faster.

How To Use a Sauna Suit Properly
From finding the right fit to the conditions in which you use a sauna suit, there are a few specifications to follow to reap the most benefits out of it.
- The size of the suit should be snug but not too tight. You want to lock the heat and moisture into the suit. The sizes of sauna suits should reflect what you would normally wear in clothing. If you can try them on first, I would recommend that because some manufacturers differ in sizing.
- The fit of the suit should be tight enough to lock around you. Check that the elastic bands around your wrists, torso, and ankles (if you are using a set of pants) are snug.
- Take frequent breaks and hydrate. You can quickly become dehydrated because you will lose a lot of water. Severe dehydration can occur in as fast as an hour with a sauna suit on or if you exercise in hot, humid environments.
- Progressively work your way up. I would not recommend jumping right into your hardest workout the first time you wear one. Your body may not know how to respond to this added variable. Start with sitting and relaxing with the sauna suit on to burn extra calories after a workout or during a very low-intensity session for a few minutes. Once you get more comfortable with it on, kick up the intensity a bit. Then, continue to monitor how your body responds to wearing it before you make any further adjustments to your activity levels.
- Wash your suit! Treat this just as any other gym clothing. The sauna suit will get really sweaty — that’s its purpose. Some will soak up your sweat better than others, and some will smell worse than others. Regardless, wash your sauna suit after every use. Pay close attention to the manufacturing instructions on how to wash it. Some suits can be tossed in a washing machine, while others require you to hand wash them.

Frequently Asked Questions
Isn’t All the Weight You Lose With a Sauna Suit Just Water Weight?
Most of the weight you lose when wearing a sauna suit is just water weight. You can typically lose between 1-3 lbs following a session with a sauna suit, but this rapid weight loss is due to losing fluids through excess sweat.

Instructions for cleaning your sauna suit vary by brand, but it’s generally best to hand wash it with cold water. Let it soak in a tub with sensitive-skin detergent for no more than 15-20 minutes. How Much Weight Can You Lose in a Week With Sauna Suit?
You can typically lose 1-3 lbs per session by wearing a sauna suit. A good standard for how much weight you can lose in a week is 6-8 lbs. However, this is mostly water weight. You must continue exercising, eating, and hydrating properly for long-term weight loss.
